Fantastic potential
Posted by John C on Jan 14th 2022
I got one of these for a great price from Impact in Ogden last year at half the cost of my FN. so, comparisons were inevitable.
Out of the box, it was less finicky than the FN, and has a drilled and tapped slide for a red dot optic—which the FN does not. On the downside, the factory trigger is much worse than the FN, long and spongy, with lots of overtravel. Accuracy of both was about the same, 2.5+” at 25 yds.
I mounted a red dot, managed to clean up the trigger and . . . Voila! This gun now shoots factory ammo into less than an inch at 25 yds. Now it’s my go-to walking-around varmint pistol. I deducted a star for Ruger hiding this gun’s potential. -

4 Stars, with a bullet
Posted by John on Jan 9th 2022
I got one on sale last year from Impact. While it is dead reliable, the trigger is horribly long and scratchy, so it was tough to evaluate accuracy, both with my handloads and factory ammo, hence 4 stars.
The good news is, I purchased and installed an aftermarket trigger, and added a red dot sight. Groups tightened up considerably, to an astounding sub-1” group at 25 yards with factory ammo. -

My buddy owns this pistol and I put nearly 200 rounds down it and it is incredibly accurate and fun to shoot. right when I got the email from impact that they were back in stock I purchased it immediately, very very fair price and excellent customer service once again! Thank you!
